Anyone else apply ED to the BA/BFA edition with Parsons?

Lang Music Concentration

Hello, I'm a senior in high school and Lang is currently my first choice to go to school next year.
I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the music program. Are the Lang professors/classes good? Is it relatively easy to take classes and private lessons at the music conservatories? Is it a strong concentration by itself at Lang or should I look into the BA/BFA if I really want to study music seriously?

Any feedback would be helpful!

Admission essay

Sorry if this is a stupid question or if it has been asked before but what exactly is the supplement essay asking? I am in the middle of writing it but I don't think I am answering it right. Can anyone give me some insight as to what exactly the question is asking?

You have been elected the leader of a new populace. The future is in your hands. Outline a platform on environmental issues, education, and race and ethnicity.Be wise and be creative.

Again, sorry if its been asked before

So, I have to make a zine for one of my finals, and I'd like to use up some of my printer credit. Anyone know if there's a place at school where we can use printer credit on a photocopier? Or if there's a photocopier that students can use at all, even if it is coin-operated? I'm broke and I don't want to go to Village Copier to make this thing.

The Gube

Waiting by the mailbox and killing some time.

I'm applying to Lang ED this year and I'm currently in the limbo period between the deadline and when acceptance letters are mailed. To be honest, it's driving me completely insane to sit idle while a bunch of people sit around a table contemplating my future. Anyone else feel that? It doesn't help that, as a high school senior, you can't walk into a room without hearing someone talking about applications, acceptance letters or financial aid.

I'm just posting as a way of keeping myself occupied until the fifteenth. Anyone else applying ED or not? Where else are you looking at?

Any current students have advice about Lang? I'm pretty much interested in hearing anything about the school; your opinions, your grievances, your favorite (or not favorite) parts, etc.

Just looking to hear (read?) some voices to distract me from my panic.

So I applied early decision to lang and for some reason (I'm asking because I'm wondering if anyone had a similar situation) my application status on the website they gave me reads that all my materials have not been received. My act scores and one of my teacher reccomendations have but not my transcripts essays and short answers. I know FOR A FACT that they have been sent. When I called the admissions office they told me that they still have documents have yet to be processed but it seems to me as though my materials should have been processed by now..or do they not update the website at a certain point? Please let me know if you have any experience with this as I really want my application to be considered ED

Interview/Admissions/Supplementary Materials

Sorry if any of these questions are redundant, I wasn't really able to find the exact answers I was looking for while searching through older entries, and I am also very very nervous and seeking a little reassurance. I am currently a senior and Lang is my first choice for college. I was going to apply early decision because I'm very comfortable with Lang as my first choice, but my parents didn't like the idea of early decision because they wanted a chance to go visit the school before I applied. I'm doing regular decision now because of this.

I'm going up to NYC on December 6th I have an interview on December 7th (which happens to be my birthday!) and I was wondering what have the interviews typically been like this year? I've heard that senior students generally conduct the interviews, what kind of questions do they typically ask?

I got a 550 on the math, 640 on the writing, and 710 on the critical reading portions of the SAT (1900 Combined), I take the ACT later this year. I was wondering if my scores are competitive this year. My GPA is roughly a 3.2-3.3. I ran track and cross country for 3 years, but quit this year because the dynamic of the program really went down hill and it ceased to be fun. I also quit to take more AP classes and be involved in student government.

For supplementary materials I was thinking of sending in a CD of some of the music that I have recorded over the past couple of years. Did any of you guys do something similar to this, or did you stick to writing samples?

Thanks for your help!
